‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ review : A flying sikh, A very good directed movie

The film by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is a tribute to the legendary sportsman. After making films like ‘Aks’, ‘Rang De Basanti, ‘Delhi 6’, the director succeeds in pulling off 'BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG', a feat that speaks volumes about his passion for the subject.

It is not true that the film doesn’t have any drawback. But it surely leaves you with feelings that you may not be able to describe in words. 

Milkha Singh was a victim of the partition of India in 1947 that created history. Milkha (Farhan Akhtar) is a champion who is often troubled by his painful past.

His father’s last words “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” resonates in his ears time and again, rattling his senses. Milkha has to literally run for his life.

If he had not come across his love (Sonam Kapoor), the world wouldn’t have ever known Milkha Singh. To win her heart, Milkha quits stealing and takes up a responsible job. He joins the Indian Army.

During a training session, the trainer (Pawan Malhotra) of Milkha, discovers the athlete in him. And the success story of the legendary Milkha Singh aka the Flying Sikh starts.

Farhan Akhtar as Milkha is an absolute treat to watch. The actors who add colour very nicely to the film are- Pawan Malhotra, Prakash Raj and Yograj Singh.

The music by Shankar-Ehasaan-Loy is like breathe of fresh air, it will certainly leave you with a sense of pride for having the legendary athlete as a fellow countryman.

'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is really nice movie and if you are a patriot then you must watch this movie.

Raanjhanaa box-ofice collection : Rs 31.5 crore worldwide on first weekend

Raanjhanaa, the movie that celebrates love, is enjoying a positive response at the box office as the romantic movie has grossed Rs 31.5 crore worldwide on its first weekend. 

The Anand L Rai directed this film. Raanjhanaa, having  budget of Rs 35 crore, released on June 21 across 1,400 screens in the country and 220-plus screens abroad. 

On its opening weekend, it's box-office collection raised to Rs 26.5 crore at the Indian box office and Rs 5 crore in the overseas market.

Raanjhanaa is written by Himanshu Sharma and produced by Krishika Lulla under the banner Eros International and the star cast includes actors like Abhay Deol, Mohammed Zeeshan and Swara Bhaskar.

The film’s high points are its Varanasi flavour, mind-blowing music by AR Rahman, Dhanush's acting skill and Sonam's unbelievable character. The Dhanush-Sonam starrer is being praised by audiences in India and overseas alike. 

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “A film that touches the core of your heart. Not to be missed!”

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: “In celebration (of India’s victory at the Champions Trophy) saw ‘Raanjhanaa’… loved the premise, the execution the performance, and the UP (Uttar Pradesh) atmosphere. Wishing it all success!”

Vicky Donor said, “She has a great sense of fashion and style and that had eclipsed her acting talent in the past, but I think by doing films like Raanjhanaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, you will discover her earthy side and an actor in her.”

Raanjhanaa is expected to go strong at the ticket window in second weekend also.
