Operation "Surya" at Kedarnath : 82,000 people rescued by Indian Army, Indian Air force, ITBP

Official news coming from the government of Uttarakhand that more than 82,000 people were rescued by Saturday night. 

"It will take 15 more days to save all the people and to clean up the whole mess that is causing people suffer a lot",the Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said.

"Efforts are on to rescue small number of people left stranded in Bhairon Chatti, where NDRF team is also creating a helipad. The moment it is ready and the clouds clear up, air rescue will start," the ITBP chief said. 

Vijay Bahuguna also confirmed that the death toll will be more than 1000.

1500 people are transferred from Govindghat to Joshimath. Water is made available to Govindghat,Badrinath,Joshimath, Gopeshwar, Rudraprayag.

All the people from Yamunotri and Junglechatti are rescued and transferred to safer places. 300 ITBP jawans are on continuous service at Joshimath to give the best possible help to the people who are in critical condition.

There are still 22,000 people stuck in some areas and Army is going to use UAV to find all these people.

57 Helicopters including Army helicopters and some private, are there to provide the best possible help to people. Due to raining around 40mm in Uttarakhand on Saturday  Helicopters were not able to take off today(Sunday) morning. 

On around 11:15 am today, The first Helicopter took off to find these people. Rain stopped everywhere in Uttarakhand by today evening, caused a relief to the people who are still stuck.
